
Board of Management
CareWest is governed by a Board of Directors, whose ten members ensure that the organisation has a proper framework to promote and protect its interests, for the benefit of its clients and other stakeholders. Membership is voluntary, with directors being appointed on the basis of their skills and experience.
The Board delegates the management of the organisation to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO is responsible for delivering services according to the Strategic Plan, within the policies and budgets approved by the Board. A team of managers oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation under the general direction of the CEO.
Anne Hopwood - Board Member
Anne holds a degree in Social Science and a post graduate certificate in Social & Community Practise. Anne operates her own consultancy business and has worked for state and local government and the not-for-profit sector for many years. Anne has undertaken projects such as social planning, strategic planning, project evaluation, staff development and training. She has extensive experience in a range of government funded programs,accountability requirements, submission writing and networking with government agencies.
Alexandra Ruse
Alex moved from Sydney in 1997 to take up a position as Manager of Family Support in Orange, concurrently Alex worked as a partime teacher for TAFE in the Community Services and Health faculty. Alex has a particular interest in developing training programs for sector workers and Boards of Management.In addition to her teaching position, Alex works as a project coordinator for TAFE, implementing training programs statewide for workers and advocates in health, disability and aged care.
Robyn Delander - President
Robyn is the President of the CareWest Board and draws on extensive experience in the education & community service sectors. Her expertise lies in the areas of management, occupational,health & safety and education & training.
Terry Bishop - Treasurer
Terry Bishop joined the University of Sydney and was based in both the Dubbo and Orange Campuses. Prior to joining the School of Rural Health, Terry was Chief Executive Officer at Fairfield Division of General Practice and before that an accounting academic at Charles Sturt University.
George Blackwell - Vice President
George worked for 25 years in the public health system before pursuing his interest in law. He worked across rural New South Wales managing public hospitals at Leeton, Bowral and Orange. George’s areas of interest in elder and family law reflect his background and genuine affinity with people and desire to resolve their legal problems.George applies it within its wider context of estate planning, wills and probate, powers of attorney, enduring guardianship, advanced health care directives and abuse of older people.
John has an extensive background in Retail Management, Finance and Property Management, Community Development and HR Development. John was involved in the establishment of the Tenant Participation Program and the Home Modification and Maintenance Projects in Northern NSW. He also participated in Government Planning Forums for community services in Northern NSW.
Allan Flood
Allan has served on the Board of Management of several Commmunity Organisations for the past 30 years and has held the Chairman position at the Orange Credit Union for 21 years. Allan has held the chairman position at Orange Community Transport for nine years and is currently Chairman at Orange Legacy Club.
Jeff Fardell - Secretary
Jeff has a background in Electrical Supply industry and qualifications in Management, Marketing, Information Technology and a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.Jeff has been actively involved in management committees of local and statewide services for the intellectually disabled and their carers. He has served in various position on the Management Committee of CareWest including treasurer, secretary and most recently as chairman.
