CareWest gives people who are frail older or living with dementia the opportunity to stay at home and remain independent for as long as possible. We do this through information, equipment, in-home and community services and by supporting carers.

You may need help, or you may be caring for a family member or a friend who needs help, but you just don’t know where to start or what help you can get.There are different types of aged care services to support you, whatever your needs. The Australian Government established My Aged Care to help you navigate the aged care system.

ComPacks

If you’re about to be discharged from a public hospital and think you could do with a hand while you get back on your feet, then ComPacks may be able to provide the necessary assistance and support for a smooth and safe transition home.

A ComPacks package provides support for up to six weeks after hospital discharge with referrals made by a health professional from the hospital you’re treated in. Be it personal care, meal preparation, shopping, domestic duties or banking, ComPacks will help you to recover while enabling you to maintain independence in your home. Our service will also link you to other community care services that suit your needs, making your transition home safer, smoother and more secure.

In Home Support

Are you concerned about retaining your independence as you get older or looking for some practical help that enables you to stay in your own home? Our In Home Support programs can offer you flexible assistance that gives you the freedom to choose the best support options for you.

If you want to stay in your own home as you get older but need help with activities like cleaning, preparing meals, laundry, showering or gardening, then these programs could be for you: Home Care Packages 1-4, Commonwealth  Home Support Program, Veterans Home Care and CareWest Commercial.
We want you to stay living at home for as long as possible, and we want you to remain independent. For this reason you’ll have full control over the kind of services you access, who will deliver those services, and when. You’ll even be able to see a budget, giving you information about how much funding is available and how those funds are spent. All services will be delivered by our caring, fully trained and qualified staff, on hand to assist you in everything from household tasks to personal care. We can also help with community access and transport to medical appointments or the shops. Everybody is different, and our goal will be to find the right support for your specific needs.

Dementia Services

Caring for a friend, family, or neighbour with dementia is rewarding but it can also be very challenging. If you feel that you could benefit from a break, or some support, we offer a variety of services

If you would like to maintain your caring role but are in need of a little help, we have a number of different respite options that could be what you need. Our services include overnight respite care at homely Maple Cottage, a Federation cottage in Orange, or day care programs if it suits you better. Respite can also be offered in the home or through Community Access outings. We help you, and your carer if necessary, to consider all of the options available and to carefully plan for the future by offering you the most appropriate assistance for your individual needs. Client assessments and care plans are put in place by our caring, experienced and qualified staff who will work to ensure that you are part of a sustainable program that encourages you both to reach your full potential.
