Community Transport

Are you struggling to access mainstream transport but want to retain your independence? If you’re looking to get out and about with a bit more ease this door-to-door service could give you the support you need. If you are frail, have a disability or are a carer, then CareWest Community Transport can make it easier for you to get around.

This service offers safe, easy-to-access travel for people who have difficulties using mainstream transport. This affordable door-to-door service will allow you to maintain your independence and lead your best life. Whether it’s attending a medical appointment, going shopping or enjoying a social outing with friends, this service is on hand to make the journey simpler. Community Transport is open to a wide range of people and made up of a variety of different vehicles, including small buses that are wheelchair accessible.
This service is available in the Orange and Blayney Local Government Areas (LGA), the Northern and Southern sections of Cabonne LGA, Balranald Local Government Area, Wentworth Local Government Area, and in the town of Ivanhoe.

Home Modifications

Would you like to make some affordable modifications to your home so it and safer to carry out tasks, or move around? Our Home Modifications and Maintenance program will help you maintain your independence by making life in your own house that little bit easier.

If you are an older person or someone with a disability and you move around your home with a bit more ease, CareWest can help. We can fit handrails, access ramps and other mobility aids to assist you with your everyday living. We can also widen doorways and give you some advice on your home modification options. Our goal is to make you feel safe and comfortable in your own home. We a referral from an Occupational Therapist who will then visit you to discuss the best modifications for your needs and what options are available to you. Clients must be eligible for Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) funded services.

Social Support

Would you like support to get out and about? If you are a frail or older person, a carer, or a person living with a disability, CareWest’s Social Support Service may be able to help. Our Social Support Service is available in various locations and is tailored to the individual needs of each community.

If you live in Dubbo, Wagga Wagga, Warren, Gilgandra or Gulargambone and are frail, older, living with a disability, or a carer, the CareWest Social Support and Community Transport Service is here to help you. People using this service access support to enjoy outings such as shopping, social events and appointments; or to simply have a volunteer call in for a cuppa and chat. In Home Support

Are you concerned about retaining your independence as you get older or looking for some practical help that enables you to stay in your own home? Our In Home Support programs can offer you flexible assistance that gives you the freedom to choose the best support options for you.

If you want to stay in your own home as you get older but need help with activities like cleaning, preparing meals, laundry, showering or gardening, then these programs could be for you: Home Care Packages 1-4, Commonwealth  Home Support Program, Veterans Home Care and CareWest Commercial.
We want you to stay living at home for as long as possible, and we want you to remain independent. For this reason you’ll have full control over the kind of services you access, who will deliver those services, and when. You’ll even be able to see a budget, giving you information about how much funding is available and how those funds are spent. All services will be delivered by our caring, fully trained and qualified staff, on hand to assist you in everything from household tasks to personal care. We can also help with community access and transport to medical appointments or the shops. Everybody is different, and our goal will be to find the right support for your specific needs.
